Anyway, I don't know how to use this blog thing so I'm gonna try my best. I was writing a blog last night to kick off my fitness plan/blog and it was somehow lost and I gave up and went to bed. So, I'm starting today.
40 days of fitness is an idea I stole from Keanna and her "21 Days of Summer". Keanna used this as a way to stick to her plan of reading Judges (21 chapters) and achieve personal goals. She asked people to follow with her for motivation and I'm sure she was successful (despite the number of her followers who were not so successful). But I digress...
My plan is to get in shape for my upcoming wedding and honeymoon (shout out to my homeboy and fiance, Zack!) by exercising at least 4 days a week and eating low carb/high protein meals. I will lose the 10 pounds I gained while basking in the glory of Zack's love-lol. I will not look like a sausage in my dress nor will I be out of breath while getting down on the dance floor at the reception. I refuse to continue with my laziness and unhealthy habits (at least for the next 40 days!). Hopefully, I will be able to make a lifestyle change that will carry me throughout my years.
In addition to my fitness plan, I will read and study the 40 chapters of Exodus (a chapter a day keeps the devil away... as well as faith and obedience to the Word). I hope you follow my plan and hold me accountable for the readings and the fitness. Come on and join me!!! Keep me posted on your progress and give me your ideas of the readings.
On to today...
I haven't exercised yet but I definitely plan to do so when Zack gets home from work. He usually tries to keep me on track while I moan, groan, and complain about how I hate cardio machines and would rather be in a cardio class. But I'm gonna get it together today! No complaining from me... no sir!
We did major grocery shopping for veggies, fruits, and the like. We had a healthy breakfast and I'll see how lunch goes.
On to the word: Exodus 1:1 starts the beginning of Moses journey to free the people of Israel. The people of Israel totally outnumbered the people of Egypt. Mr. Pharaoh was not happy with that because Israel could, in the time of war, give Egypt the beat down if they joined forces with Egypt's enemies. Pharaoh was livid! He decided to make labor as harsh and unbearable as he could for Israel. I mean, he really gave them the business by making them build cities in that crazy desert heat!
Pharaoh, being the crazy man he was, also decided to kill Israel's male babies. He told two Israeli mid-wives, Shiphrah and Puah, to kill the babies upon their arrival into the world however, the mid-wives were dedicated to God and chose to ignore Pharaoh's commands and lied to him when he asked why the babies were still alive. Imagine the courage they had to have to go against big, bad Pharaoh!!! That must've been scary but faith in God will give you the courage! For their faithfulness, God blessed the mid-wives with strong families. God is Great!
And that Pharaoh... kept on with his mess. He decided, because Israel continued to multiply, to throw all the male babies into the river! Now, how crazy is that?!?!?
More next time...

Steph!! You will do fine girl. Don't worry... just remember "No pain, no gain."
One of the ways that I used to stay fit (pre-pregnancy) was by doing Taebo. It's fun, energetic, and you get to take out some major aggression (and if you like group fitness classes, then you will like this). I'll be your cheerleader. Go Steph Go! :-)
Congrats and good luck!
