Ok... so i forgot my password but i'm on track now!
Zack and I went to the gym on Day 1. We played basketball (I spanked him in a 1 on 1 game {10-9}) and worked on upper body. I ate a turkey burger for lunch and made grilled chicken w/ salsa, rice & broccoli, and berry spinach salad (which tore my stomach up!).
Yesterday (Day 2) we ate oatmeal, eggs, biscuit, and bacon for breakfast... sandwiches for lunch, and I had cereal for dinner (Zack had left overs). Zack went to the gym for a few hours while I was at work and I, later that night, finally followed the Tae-Bo video (after watching several other exercise shows for about an hour). The workout may not have been much but it was something... oh well! I'm still kinda sore from Day 1's workout.
Yesterday's reading was Exodus 2, which is about Moses's birth. All while Pharoah was killing the male babies, Moses was saved after his mom put him in a basket and hid him in the reeds. He was later found by Pharoah's daughter. I'm realizing that this is a book about faith (as are most). I mean... his mom had to be fearful that someone would find the baby and kill him. Who would've known that Pharoah's daughter would keep him for herself and raise him?!?!
Moses was raised in Pharoah's home but he still had a good heart. He did not like the violence and oppression the Egyptians placed on Israel. He stood up for them even before God commanded him to do so. The slaves had been talking about how Moses killed an Egyptian who beat a Hebrew slave. When Moses found out about this "gossip" and the fact that Pharoah was on the rampage to kill him because of what he'd done, he decided to flee the area.
He arrived at an area where he helped some women get water to their flock. The father of the women decided to keep Moses around and give him a wife, Zipporah. Moses and Zipporah later had a son. In the meantime, Egypt continues to oppress Israel and Israel continues to cry out to God. God, being the good God He is, hears their cry and is concerned.
